Due By:

Use the script handout from the Cut-To-Action lesson to help you organize and edit the file.

You should trim the footage using the "Cut-To-Action" style of editing.

The next 4 lessons in this module will guide you through the editing process.

Sequence Setup

After creating a new project, create a new sequence that is 1920x1080 with a frame rate of 23.976fps.

Download Assets

Be sure to Extract/Unzip the contents from the folder.

You will see that the clips have been named according to the Sequence and Shot.

Example

  • 01_01_Walk_Towards_Classroom.mp4

  • 01_02_open_door.mp4

  • 02_01_Open_door_walk_in.mp4

  • ... etc

Example of Finished Exercise

Below are two examples. The first is what I would consider a rough cut. The clips are in the correct order, according to the script. However, there is a lot of extra, unnecessary footage. The key is to keep the action moving.

It is called Cut-On-Action for a reason. You want to cut wherever there is action.
